7 Tips to Stop Laziness, Sleepiness & Procrastination

How to Overcome Laziness, Sleepiness and Procrastination?

Do you often feel lazy?

Are you wasting your time by being Lazy?

Laziness isn’t a natural habit. Laziness can be caused by not knowing the task at hand, procrastination, feeling too comfortable to have the job done, and lack of motivation to get started.

Whatever the reason might be, if laziness intrudes on your daily work output or makes you unconcerned about your duty, it’s going to cost you a lot.

The only solution is to learn how to overcome laziness so that you can become more productive and achieve your goals faster.

1. Plan your Goals

Do you have a long term goal that motivates you every day to work for hours? Which helps you get up in the morning and get going?

If you answered “NO” then obviously you will feel lazy. If you don’t have any goal to achieve, then you will have nothing to lose and nothing to gain, and wasting time will be the best option available.

So it’s best to invest some time in finding a goal that motivates you to work hard.

2. Daily To-Do list

Not knowing what to do next makes you vulnerable to laziness. Planning your next day by making a to-do list every night will not only clear up your mind but also give your mind time to be ready for the next day’s work. And your day will become more productive and free of laziness.

Here’s a Bonus Tip: Always start with the most difficult task early in the morning when you are fresh and full of energy, so that you have simpler work in the evening when we mostly feel lazy.

3. Supportive Environment

Laziness is contagious. If the people you hang out with are generally a bit lazy about work and goals, then it’s easier for you to just adapt to that mood and way of thinking. It’s better to have a company that inspires you to achieve your goal without wasting time.

Finding a partner to hold you accountable for your action is a good way to start.
For example: “If you schedule time at the gym with a friend, you’ll have more motivation to actually get up and hit the gym.”

If it’s difficult for you to change your company, then you can start by reading and knowing about successful personalities and their struggles in life as it is an excellent way to change your mindset and get motivated.

4. Cleanliness

Your surroundings have a significant influence on you. If everything around you is messy and disorganized, then your mind will be disturbed too.

A clean room or desk has a positive vibe to it. It will attract you to work more often with full energy. Also, Dressing nicely and following good hygiene has a positive impact on your energy level.

“When we put on an item of clothing, it is common for us to adopt the characteristics associated with that garment. Like wearing professional work attire. So when you put that clothing on, your brain will be tricked to be active and ready to work”.

So next time when you are feeling lazy or not performing best to your ability, think it in a positive way to encourage yourself: “It was a slow morning, but now it’s time to speed up. I need to complete it now.” You’ll be surprised that the surge in mental positivity could actually change your actions.

You are your own coach, your own source of inspiration. You can gear yourself into action by telling yourself inspiring things and affirming your actions. If you want to achieve something in life, then you need to work for it. Wasting time being lazy is not going to help you.

6. Healthy and Active Morning Routine

7. Sleeping Pattern

Lack of sleep is an obvious reason for laziness. And there is only one solution to it: Proper sleep.

Yes, you heard right; there is no replacement for sleeping, so if you want to get rid of laziness, then focus on good quality sleep of at least 7 to 8 hours.

Our body works in rhythm, and that applies to sleep as well. Going to sleep and waking up at a fixed time will help your body to adopt the routine, and you will fall asleep faster.

Scientifically it is best to sleep between 10 pm to 6 am. That is the time when your body is prepared to fall asleep. So try to schedule your things and sleep at 10 pm.

If you are habitual of using your phone before sleeping for browsing through Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or watching videos on Youtube and Netflix, then you need to change it.

Exposure to blue light before going to sleep tricks our body that it’s still daytime. This Reduces sleep hormones like melatonin, which helps you relax and get deep sleep. It’s best to stop using the phone at the bed and instead replace it with reading a book or listening to soothing music.

“Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction”. So why to stay lazy when you can achieve so much just by being active.
